Ordained Minister (half-time)
Adolphustown/Conway Pastoral Charge

Adolphustown/Conway Pastoral Charge, located in scenic Loyalist area, is looking for a half time minister to provide scriptural services, sacraments, comfort and support to our Church members and the community at large.  We are one congregation, worshipping in two buildings (alternating Sundays).  Conway United Church was built in 1882 and is situated in an old harbour town on Lake Ontario.  Adolphustown United Empire Loyalist (UEL) Centennial United Church was built in 1884 and is located in our farming community. We are a short distance from Kingston and Queen’s University, with its School of Religion.

We are a faith-based charge that provides a deeply rooted, caring and supportive church family to support each other and the community at large.  The bulk of our members are fifty to seventy, with a small group both younger and older members.  Our two congregations have worked as one, actively fundraising and worshipping since 1995. Our Sunday schools, UCWs and our  outreach group (Giant Hearts) are very active in our congregations.  We have an organist each Sunday, along with a choir for special events.

We are looking for a minister who is a good teacher, provides an innovative approach to worship, has a good sense of humour, has an appreciation of the rural life style, and is a good listener.

Havelock and Trent River Pastoral Charge

We are searching for a half-time Ordained or Diaconal minister. We are one congregation with two places of worship with one service each Sunday. The two churches are within 5 minutes of each other.

We are eager to support someone with strong leadership skills who also has the ability to nurture Lay participation and leadership. Pastoral Care is the primary need of the congregation and it is also important for our minister to have a viable presence in the community and be engaged in the life of the church. It is the desire of the congregation to have sermons preached in a straightforward manner relating the Bible to life. We would encourage guidance in Youth Ministry. Music is a big part of our ministry and any musical skills would complement this already existing program.

The Havelock and Trent River pastoral charge is accustomed to having part-time ministers and would comply with the Salary and Allowance Schedule provided by the United Church of Canada. Part-time ministry would allow for one Sunday per month free with that prep time being dedicated to Pastoral Care. Vacation and other allowances will be discussed with the successful applicant.
